Disclaimers
1. Relationship to the Terms
These Disclaimers form part of the StoryBee Terms of Use. They explain important limitations concerning StoryBee.ca, StoryBee.Space, their reading features, and the books and other material made available through them (together, the “Services”). If these Disclaimers conflict with the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use control.
2. Educational and informational material
The Services provide general educational, informational, and reading material. They are not a substitute for professional legal, medical, psychological, financial, educational-assessment, or other professional advice. StoryBee does not guarantee that content satisfies a particular curriculum, school requirement, accessibility need, reading level, or learning objective.
3. Children’s suitability and adult supervision
Books may be created or curated for children, but no classification, description, age range, subject, or reading-level indicator can account for every child’s circumstances. A parent, guardian, teacher, or other responsible adult must decide whether material is appropriate and supervise a child’s use.
4. AI-assisted and automated material
StoryBee may use software automation, machine-learning systems, and large-language-model tools to assist with website development, editorial preparation, classification, summaries, educational metadata, and related features. We use reasonable review and validation processes, but automated or AI-assisted output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased, internally inconsistent, or unsuitable for a particular purpose.
AI assistance does not mean every book, illustration, or statement was generated by AI. Users should independently evaluate material before relying on it, particularly where a decision could affect a child’s education, health, safety, or legal rights.
5. Accuracy, completeness, and outcomes
We may correct or update content, but we do not guarantee that every fact, classification, translation, adaptation, link, recommendation, or description is complete, current, or free from error. We do not guarantee any educational, developmental, behavioural, commercial, or other outcome from using the Services.
6. Availability and technology
The Services may be interrupted, delayed, unavailable, changed, withdrawn, or displayed differently because of maintenance, security events, internet conditions, browser or device limitations, third-party providers, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Public trial access does not guarantee permanent availability of any book or feature.
7. External services and links
The Services may use or link to Cloudflare, Squarespace, FlipHTML5, and other third-party services. StoryBee does not control every aspect of a third party’s availability, content, security, or practices. A link or technical integration does not necessarily mean that StoryBee endorses all third-party content or conduct.
8. Copyright and third-party rights
Ownership and permitted use can vary by book and component. Review the book’s credits, the Legal Notices, and the Fair Use Notice. Nothing in these Disclaimers grants permission to copy or commercially exploit material or replaces the need to obtain permission where applicable law requires it.
9. Legal effect
The warranty disclaimers, liability limitations, mandatory-law protections, and dispute provisions that apply to the Services are set out in the Terms of Use. Nothing here excludes a right, remedy, warranty, condition, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
